The Boeing 727-200 is the stretched version of the 727-100. The '200 is 20 feet longer that the '100. The first 727-200 flew on July 27th, 1967. The first delivery was to Northeast Airlines. As the aircraft evolved, a series of higher gross weights and more powerful engines were introduced along with other improvements. These 727-200's were dubbed "Adv" or advanced. The first "advanced" version was delivered in mid-1972. A total of 935 were produced.
Northwest Airlines, was a major United States airline in founded in 1926. In 2008, Northwest was merged with Delta Airlines. Northwest continued to operate under its own name and brand until the integration of the carriers was completed in 2010. Northwest has 82 Boeing 727-200's in service from 1968 to 2003.
This Northwest Airlines Boeing 727-200 (251) with registration number N253US, had its maiden flight on November 15, 1968. It was delivered to Northwest on November 21, 1969. It flew under Northwest colors until July of 1994, when it was sold to Okada Air. It had it's remaining service life with Okada until it was retired and stored.
This 1:400 scale Dragon Wings reproduction of that aircraft is a very rare, highly detailed, out of production model. It has the beautiful Northwest colors used during the 1980's with a chrome upper and lower fuselage. All sales are final. Shipping to the continental USA only.
