The Portuguese won their African empire wearing chain mail and armor; 400 years later they sailed away wearing camouflage fatigues. Their distinctive lizard pattern camouflage went on to become the model for half a continent, and was used by, among others, the SADF's elite 32 Battalion, as well as their adversaries, SWAPO and FAPLA. This Portuguese Angola War SADF 32BN FAPLA LIZARD CAMO HBT FIELD COMBAT SHIRT is in near mint condition, with a small seam split in the left side hem, a roughly finished seam at each side of the interior front hem, and with some light scattered fading and age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the shirt is in near mint shape, with no other damage to the crisp HBT 100% cotton construction. Most interestingly, it's a Size "5" (measuring to about a Size 34 chest), retains a great amount of the vibrant Portuguese lizard camouflage colors, and boasts the classic single exposed button flap closure pleated chest pockets. It features button cuffs, button shoulder straps, and a pleated middle back, sports all of the original small flat rimmed brown plastic buttons throughout, and is a beautiful example of a rare, original Portuguese Angola War SADF 32BN FAPLA LIZARD CAMO HBT FIELD COMBAT SHIRT.
