Vintage Rolleicord V TLR : WORKS SEE PHOTOS

Description

The Rolleicord V was produced from October 1954 to March 1957 by Franke and Heidecke in Braunschweig, Germany. It was the then-current version in a line of TLR cameras dating from 1933 which represented a lower-priced version of the top-of-line Rolleiflex. A total of 84,000 of this version were produced with serial numbers from 1,500,000 to 1,583,999. Thi camera (s/n 1514515) has a four-element coated Schneider Xenar

3.2/75mm finder lens. It has a Synchro Compur MX shutter with 1 to 1/500 sec settings plus B and T. The camera takes 120 film. Anther feature of note in this Rolleicord V are a focusing knob on the right side with central film speed reminder. Cosmetics are good with intact unblemished leatherette and clean brightwork. There is chipping and wear of the black paint, however, particularly on the corners. The shutter tensions and fires at all indicated speeds but has not been calibrated. The aperture control operates smoothly as does the focus. One note for the potential user of this type of camera--cocking the shutter requires that the camera be loaded with film.
