Description
You are bidding on a genuine vintage pair of "U.S. Army Jungle Fatigue Trousers in a Size Medium / Long Dated 1969"
. These OG-107 green combat trousers were part of the U.S. Vietnam Jungle Fatigue set that are uniquely associated with the Vietnam War. These trousers have a lineage back to the WW 2 Parachute Jumper M-41 Suit trousers with expandable cargo pockets on each leg. In turn, the Vietnam Jungle Fatigues influenced almost all subsequent U.S. (and more than a few foreign militaries) BDU uniforms.
These trousers are from a unique 1969 contract that has a couple of features not found on previous contract years. They have a zipper fly instead of a button fly button and on the left leg cargo pocket, there is a small interior button pocket for smaller items. These two features are totally unique to the 1969 contract trousers, making them very desirable. Otherwise, the trousers are fairly standard with waist take up tabs on each side. 2 slash hip pockets, button down cargo pockets, 2 rear button-down pockets and drawstrings on each leg to protect the wearer from insects. Beautiful color to these pants, giving them an "in country" look. No holes, snags or other damage. Worn but in extremely nice shape.
The size and care label has the DSA date of 1969 putting their production at the height of the war.
These original Vietnam jungle fatigue trousers have become very difficult to find, particularly in a Medium / Long size. Many were made but after 50 years, the bigger sizes have disappeared from the market. The fact that they are the unique featured 1969 contract makes them even more uncommon.
