I have hand-painted the inner surfaces of the hood with a newly developed acrylic paint that absorbs 95% of the light that falls on it. Because it is acrylic, it is water-resistant, but can be removed if you scratch it. I decided to go in this direction, instead of an enamel, because of its light
absorption
and very few people ever mess with the inside of a hood.
There are many different Yashica 4X4 TLR models. To insure that this fits your camera, please see the last photo and check the dimensions listed. If your camera matches the dimensions shown in the picture, then this should fit.
I am an inventor and designer with 70 US patents. I am always looking for ways to improve things. I own a lot of cameras, mostly film, and am always looking for someway to improve my photographs. This little Yashica 44LM is one more TLR camera that I have owned (Rolleiflex 2.8F, 2.8D, 3.5F, Yashicamat 124G, Mamiya C330, and a Yashica 44A) and one thing that always seemed to be missing was a lens hood for the viewing lens. Hoods are rare and expensive for TLRs, and only cover the taking lens. For that reason I designed and 3D-printed this hood. It takes about 2-1/2 hours to 3D-print the combination. As is normal for FDM 3D-printing; there may be gaps, protrusions and imperfections in the surfaces of the print (see photos), but none of these imperfections will impede shading of your lens.
This is for the model 44LM and will NOT fit the Yashica 44s WITHOUT bayonet mounts.
